FTSA are happy to announce their Technical, Strength and Conditioning Programming for the Winter of 22/23. This program is designed for our older players (2004-2009) and will hit three key areas every session:
Players will receive 30 minutes of intense technical training in various foundations of the game. The focus of training will be on maximizing meaningful / game related touches on the ball whilst receiving or dribbling. The sessions will be high paced, competitive and involve pressure so players can not only execute technique but respond to game realistic triggers.
Players will receive 30 minutes of conditioning that will focus on key, physical stimuli; cardiovascular endurance, muscular endurance, power and mobility. These sessions will be constantly varied, high intensity functional movements that allow the athletes to hit personal physical stimuli. These sessions will be run by professional strength and conditioning coaches and will be tailored to the individual and group. They will be competitive, fun and provide education on how players can tailor their own conditioning programs.
Players will receive 30 minutes of strict strength training. These sessions will focus on core strength movements such as Squats, Deadlifts, Overhead Presses, Bench Presses, and Lunges. The relevant rep, set and load ratio will be developed for every athlete and where they are in their maturation. This time will not only build Muscular Strength but also give players knowledge on how lifts can help prevent injury. These sessions will take place in the Weight Room at MKA and be run by professional strength and conditioning coaches.
This unique mix of technical, strength and endurance sessions will allow players to receive meaningful training in the offseason. Why pay for a personal trainer when you can attend a program that educates the individual on soccer specific strength and conditioning techniques and programming? Details for this program are below:
Where? Montclair Kimberley Academy, Upper School (6 Lloyd Road, Montclair)
When? Monday Jan 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th, Feb 6th, 13th, 20th
Ages? Players aged 2004 - 2009 (players will be capped at 54 and split into three groups of 18 - these groups will be split by age and physical maturation)
Who? The serious soccer player (club / academy level players) looking to supplement their club training in the off season
Format? Players will be in three groups of 18 and will rotate around each coach in every session and thus complete technical, strength and conditioning workouts.
