FIRST TOUCH SOCCER ACADEMY

FIRST TOUCH SOCCER ACADEMY

Six Core Principles and Philosophies

  1.  Facilities

  • Montclair Kimberley Academy, Van Brunt Field

  • Enclosed Turf Field ensuring complete privacy and safety for all players

  • Small grass field serves as a secondary field

  • Air conditioned dining hall for lunch and cool off during hot summer days

  • Indoor training option for storm days ensuring no cancellations and disruption to parents schedules

  • Classroom sessions for Game Intelligence Sessions (Elite Camp only)

  • Access to Weight Room for Strength Training sessions when applicable

  1. Coaching

  • Coaches from different clubs and academies in the NJ area (can list the clubs who have been represented in the last five years if this helps)

  • Experienced coaches with at least five years coaching experience in the US (could list the coaches who have worked over the last five years if that helps)

  • All groups have a counselor who plays at the collegiate level or a high level HS / Club player from the area - this provides invaluable insight and connection for our youngest players

  • Camp Director - 20 years experience working at the highest level of club and HS soccer in the area

  • Committed to employing and paying top coaches to ensure that the experience of the player is paramount

  • The above ensures that the camp is a true club neutral program where players learn from different coaches and thus different styles and philosophies

  1. Player Pool

  • Grouping by ability level, not gender or age

  • Players from over 30 clubs and academies have come to our camps over the last five years (can list the clubs here if that helps)

  • Players learn by playing with players from different programs

  • As with the coaching diversity players benefit from training outside of their year round club environment

  1. Coach to Player Ratio

  • Guaranteed Coach to Player ratio of 1:10

  • This ratio guarantees that players receive individual feedback within the sessions

  • This ratio ensures that every player is getting coached throughout the sessions and scrimmages

  1. Playing Environment

  • The coaches main goal is to provide structured training sessions that instill a passion for the game

  • Coaches follow a structured and detailed curriculum that allows them to provide their insight, approach and expertise in an area of the game

  • Camps consist of organized sessions in the morning, fun competitions and scrimmages in the afternoon

  • The environment is challenging, competitive, yet fun and enjoyable for all our players

  • Strength and Conditioning coaches from Bridge Athletics are employed to run this part of the program when applicable to the camp (Elite and HS aged camps)

  • Athletic Trainers from MKA and Atlantic Health ensure the Health of all players is of paramount importance throughout the week

  1. Professionalism / Organization / Attention to Detail

  • No stone left unturned to ensure the best possible week of camp for all players

  • Consistent communication leading up to camp and daily throughout camp to ensure parents are informed of the camp content and goal

  • Organized curriculum and sessions plans for all camps

  • Under Armor uniform provided for all players

  • All coaches employed are full time coaches or coaches at high level clubs and programs

  • Attention to the grouping of players and placements within groups to ensure that every player is part of an optimal playing environment
